Dr. Bin Wang is a Professor and Executive Dean in School of Physical Education and Sport, Central China Normal University in P.R. of China. He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Psychology from Beijing Sports University in P.R. of China. He completed his Postdoctoral work in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of sciences during 2002-2004. In 2007, He was a Visiting Scholar of Organizational Behavior in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University in the United States. DR. MARIO G. IMSON is a practicing Orthopedic Surgeon with a subspecialty in Sports Medicine.  Dr. Imson graduated from the University of the Philippines with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and subsequently obtained his medical degree from the University of the East – Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center.  He is currently a fellow of the Philippine College of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Sports Medicine Association of the Philippines.  Dr. Imson is a Professor at the University of the Cordilleras and also the section head of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic of the Baguio Medical Center.

Geraldine “Dina” Go-Bernardo is a graduate of B.S. Physical Therapy from the University of the Philippines and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Management at the Asian Institute of Management (A.I.M).  After graduation, Dina and husband Prof. Jay Bernardo formed a group of companies involved in manufacturing, logistics and services. Her foray into sports began when she became a National Athlete and Team Captain of the Philippine Women’s Dragon Boat Team. Dina became the Chairperson of the Philippine Olympic Committee Athletes Commission and was also appointed as the first female Executive Director of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).  After leaving public service, Dina was invited as Executive Board Member of the Asian Association of Sport Management (AASM) and the Asian Council of Exercise and Sports Science (ACESS) and thus founded the local chapter, the Sport Management Council of the Philippines  - SportPhil (www.sportphil.com). She currently teaches sport management at the De La Salle University, College of Business.

Dr. Shazlin Shaharudin is a Lecturer in the Exercise and Sports Science Programme, School of Health Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). She obtained her Bachelor of Science (Biomedicine) from Universiti Sains Malaysia; Masters of Science (Sports Science) from Universiti Sains Malaysia; and PhD in Biomechanics and Movement Science from University of Delaware, US. Her research interests include biomechanics of weightlifting, rowing and running. Her academic work has been published in international peer-reviewed journals. She serves as the executive board member of the Asian Council of Exercise & Sports Science (ACESS).

Dr. Margaret Jip Kuo is an Assistant Professor in the China University of Technology, Taiwan. Dr. Kuo received her Bachelor of Science from Taipei Medical University; Master’s in Sports Science (Sports Nutrition) from National Sport University; and her Doctorate in Food Sciences and Nutrition from Fu Jen Catholic University.  From 2002, Dr. Kuo works as a sports nutritionist for the baseball, judo, marathon and bodybuilding team. Prof. Dr. Gıyasettin Demirhan is working at Hacettepe University Faculty of Sport Sciences. He is Dean of the Faculty and Head of Physical Education and Sport Teacher Education Department. Action Research Methodology for Physical Education Teachers’ Professional Learning: A Good Practice from Sri Lankan Experience.

Teacher education and school education have a symbolic relationship. Developments in both these sectors mutually reinforce the concerns necessary for the qualitative improvement of the entire spectrum of education. Therefore, the Department of Education, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka  has undertook a major exercise of developing a “Physical Education Teacher Education” (PETE) which is both contextual and in tune with the emerging concerns and imperatives of the fast changing canvas of physical education teacher education both nationally and globally.

The mission of the Department of Education is to develop committed and competent professionals who can withstand future challenges and serve the nation. Meanwhile, the vision of the department is Excellence in Teacher Education, research and creative thinking in Humanities and Social Sciences for the betterment of individuals and society. The Department of Education is the pioneer in the introduction of post graduate diploma in physical Education in Sri Lanka in 2000.The course for the award of a Post Graduate Diploma in Physical Education (PGDPE) is 18 months duration and offered to candidates as a self-financed course during the week ends. The program consists of both theory and practical components. Field experiences are take place in three settings-elementary, secondary or college level (college here refers to any institution at tertiary level). Students who are concurrently employed as physical education teachers could use their own schools as field sites; other students will be assigned to other sites by the Department.
