Branislav Antala is working in Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. He is also Meritorius professor in University of Zagreb, Croatia. His area of specialization is Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy and Sport Management. He has been author of about 190 original scientific articles and reports published in 25 countries and 5 edited books. He delivered 29 invited keynote lectures and about 30 presentations in international conferences and congresses. He is a Member of the Editorial Boards of 14 international journals. He is FIEP World International Vice–president, FIEP Europe President, ICSSPE Executive Board Member, chair of International Committee of Sport Pedagogy. In Slovakia, he is member of Curriculum Council of Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport, member of PE commission. He is a recipient of many international awards eg. FIEP Gold Cross (Brazil), Águila de Oro (Mexico), Pico Bolivar Award (Venezuela), NSA “Vasily Levski” Award (Bulgaria), Gold Plaque of Montenegrin Sport Academy (Montenegro).
Physical Education in the Current Changing Society - Policy and Perspectives
In first part of presentation will be shortly present sedentary lifestyle and physical inactivity of people with all related health, economic and social consequences, as a one of principal global problems in today's world. Second part of presentation will be focused on policy oriented against actual negatives tendencies in PE, PA and on related projects and documents created by international organisations in last period - ICSSPE International Position Statement on Physical Education, MINEPS V Berlin Declaration, ICSP Benchmarks of Physical Education, UNESCO Quality Physical Education Guideline for Policy Markers, UNESCO International Charter of Physical Education, Physical Activity and Sport. Last part of presentation will be focussed on recommendations for better PE in changing society and how to increase quality of life of young generation using exercises and movement activities in schools and in daily life. All parts of presentation will be completed by short video clips.
